Circulation Fan

A circulation fan is one of the most important accessories for a greenhouse. It has several different functions, all of which benefit the plants. Its primary purpose is to create even airflow throughout the greenhouse, but it offers many other benefits.

  1. Eliminates air stratification. When air inside a greenhouse increases, it becomes stagnant. The air moves in one direction and doesn’t promote healthy plant growth. Fans circulate the air in the greenhouse.
  2. Promotes air quality. This is perhaps the best function of a circulation fan. The air moving with a circulating fan reduces mold growth. Stagnant air allows mold and disease to grow. Proper air movement, like providing fresh air, reduces disease outbreaks in the greenhouse environment.
  3. Dries plant leaves, which also minimizes disease. Flowers, like orchids, can’t retain water on their leaves, so circulation fans are a must in a greenhouse. As air moves, carbon dioxide also moves, helping to encourage new growth in plants.

Exhaust Fan

Optimal greenhouse temperatures vary, although the range should remain between 25-27 degrees Celsius. Beyond this, your greenhouse can become a giant oven. Exhaust fans increase the amount of heat released through ventilation. While they push stale air out of your facility, they also let in cool, fresh air. Exhaust fans work in conjunction with cooling pads and circulation fans to help lower temperatures more quickly and effectively.

Inner or Outer Shading

Shading provides several thermal control functions. Under extreme heat conditions, shading reduces the amount of incoming radiation. This reduces the heat load in the greenhouse and helps maintain humidity around the plants, reducing plant stress. The use of shade cloth for cooling is most effective when the material is used outside the greenhouse.

Cooling Pad

A cooling pad is a simple system that uses heat in the air to evaporate water from leaves and other wet surfaces. This can cool the greenhouse by 6-12°C below the outside temperature.

With a cooling pad, the humid, warm air drawn from inside the greenhouse is expelled through vents or fans and replaced by cooler, drier outside air.

Misting system

A misting system can reduce the temperature by 5-10 degrees in 10 minutes and maintain a constant greenhouse temperature. Furthermore, proper cooling can widen the temperature difference between day and night, which is conducive to plant nutrient accumulation, enhanced plant growth, and improved plant growth rate and crop quality.

Dehumidifier

Using a greenhouse dehumidifier to control humidity not only efficiently removes moisture from the greenhouse, but also accurately controls the humidity inside the greenhouse within the range required for the growth and development of various plants. At the same time, the operation of the greenhouse dehumidifier will not affect the temperature inside the greenhouse, thus providing a favorable growing environment for plants.
